Our Female Cadet mentoring Programme, which was launched in August 2023, was designed to support female cadets in developing the competencies, confidence, and leadership qualities essential for successful maritime careers. As the programme continues to move forward, Columbia Grouo’s main focus remains on cultivating its own generation of future seafarers by not only encouraging women to embark on seafaring careers, but ensuring they are supported beyond cadetship. Addressing key areas such as work-life balance, and offering flexible career pathways, Columbia aims to retain and empower female professionals across the maritime industry.
Successful completion of the Cadet Programme often leads to full-time employment with CSM, with opportunities for career advancement within the company’s global operations.
